Ceiling Corner

from Metamorphos by Luna Moth

/

lyrics

I got this lucid dream that sends me shivering into a corner where I pull my sleeves over my hands and wrap my arms around my knees with only headphones, dark sunglasses, and green tea, waiting so hard for wintertime so we can play records and lie with eyes half wide, wrapped up inside quilts stitched with red dirt-bred bloodlines.
So we use amusing phrases to get through these fuselit phases following the few good days that flew right past the music store on Main.

I got this spider crawling sideways on my knee. He's looking for a place to dangle and cling. He looks as though he's in a bit of a hurry. He stops to take a little breathe. That's when he recognizes me. He tips his hat and says "evening."
So I ask about his screenplay. He says, "I'll be finished someday." Then he climbs up to the ceiling. He's been sitting motionless for days.
